Lessons
Redmont Farm is dedicated to helping riders improve their horsemanship and gain the skills necessary for a safe and enjoyable ride. Our lessons, offered in the hunt seat style, include jumping for those who are enthusiastic and prepared to learn. Young riders, starting from age 6, can kick off their riding journey with us.
Our lesson program emphasizes teaching students the proper hunter seat position and aids to maximize their horse's performance. Lessons are offered on one of our well trained horses or ponies available at Redmont Farm.

About the Instructor
Jessica Welch, trainer and owner of Redmont Farm has had a lifelong passion for horses. As a junior rider, she gained experience by competing and grooming at major horse shows throughout the Midwest. During her college years, she worked with Dr. Egon Kasy in Illinois, where she trained and showcased his young Hungarian Warmbloods. Jessica started teaching at Camp Hollymont in, NC, and after moving to the Shenandoah Valley, she dedicated herself to a full time career with horses: first by working with foals and starting and showing young horses and ponies. This relocation also broadened her teaching prospects, and she takes immense joy in instructing both children and adults. Redmont Farm opened in 2008 and with it brought Jessica's skillful instruction and horse savvy to Staunton. With over twenty years of experience, Jessica has successfully guided complete beginners to become skilled and confident riders.
